Advanced battery technology

Our exclusive traction control algorithms enable advanced functionalities such as zero-speed lock on ramps, full-range braking force output, and fixed-distance traction. Our built-in charger and hybrid control unit ensure precise energy management, maximising efficiency while protecting the battery from overcharging and discharging.

Solutions

Our energy-efficient locomotive motors achieve a remarkable 93% rated point efficiency, with a braking energy recovery efficiency of 95%. Our use of asynchronous motors reduces the risk of field loss and high voltage back electromotive force, enabling wider speed ranges and IP66 protection for reliable operation.

We lead the industry with our active balancing algorithm, which optimises battery efficiency and extends battery life. Our battery systems incorporate automotive-grade components, achieving ASIL-D and IP67 protection levels, and offering options for explosion-proof design and fire extinguishing systems. Our solutions comply with IEC 61373 vibration and shock standards, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient energy storage for modern rail transport.

Complete transformation

Our complete transformation solution upgrades existing diesel locomotives to fully electric, battery-powered locomotives, achieving zero emissions, low noise, and lower energy costs. A single locomotive can store up to 12 MWh of electricity, and a dual setup can reach 24 MWh, ideal for heavy-haul rail freight. Compared to diesel locomotives, electric locomotives save at least 50% on energy costs. Additionally, they are nearly maintenance-free, with operation and maintenance costs estimated to be only 30% of those for diesel locomotives.

Battery-electric tender

Our battery-electric tender (BET) solution offers a flexible and efficient upgrade for existing diesel locomotives by integrating a battery power control unit without altering the primary diesel engine system. This approach allows operators to continue using their current diesel engines while benefiting from added battery power, enhancing overall energy efficiency. Our battery packs can be attached as tenders and are designed to be easily exchangeable to extend the locomotive's operational range.
